Do you need some help getting started? Working with electronic components and soldering can be a little intimidating at first... There are some tried and true techniques you must know to achieve the best possible effect pedal mod! How to properly solder and de-solder is one of the basics we must all master before we can do our best. We also need to know how to identify specific components and their values, or we'll end up sticking something in the circuit that won't work right.

I received my Basic Electronics and Soldering training in 1975, just out of high school, from my time in the Us Air Force. I've been soldering crap ever since. I ALWAYS have a soldering iron, stand, solder, and a de-soldering tool - at all times. You NEVER know when the cover will fly off of some new pedal or amp or guitar. Gotta be ready!
