Old Kraftsman Guitar
Hey,
You into really old guitars at all, like Silvertone, Truetone, Airline, Kay, Harmony...all those dept. store guitars from the 60's?
I want to find a particular model that was made by Kay, and marketed under several names, such as Airline (M. Wards), Truetone (Western Auto), and 'Old Kraftsman'. I had one in my sights on eBay, a 'project' guitar, similar to the one in the attached photo, but a single p/u version, I think. Didn't get it, though.
It's a really simply-made axe, but the ones I've heard or played on were really not bad, plus they have that funky ol' 60's vibe. Guess I'm having some kind of second childhood, maybe. Actually, I don't think I'm finished with the first one just yet!
If you ever spot one of those on eBay, particularly as a 'project', please let me know, OK? Doesn't have to be that exact model or brand, just that particular body style. As I said, that same basic guitar was sold under several brand-names. I'm on a quest!
