Our Quest for Ultimate Guitar Tone
Ultimate Guitar Tone Quest
Let's face it, we are all searching for the ultimate guitar tone. It can be elusive for some, and there are no two situations that are exactly the same. My rig could be all the same equipment as yours, and they will sound a bit different!
We try a vast array of extremely different and varied things, too. From tube amplifiers, effect pedals, and even DIY guitar, amp and pedal mods! We'll change the string size and material. We'll sell one guitar and buy another. We will even drive our spouses and significant others crazy with the things we are willing to do as we live our tone quest stories out through experimentation!
You know you have!
Don't deny it now, especially since you've found the ultimate guitar and electric bass site geared (yeah geared) to the ultimate discovery - Ultimate Guitar Tone!
Tone Quest Stories
You know you've done it, too! you picked up a guitar, or even a different guitar, plugged it in to your favorite tube amp, turned it up to eleven, clicked on the fuzz box and (with great anticipation) ... tweaked the tone knobs to what you hope is just right, and then (with even greater anticipation) ... you play a note or a chord and you are either amazed, unimpressed, or disappointed. Send us your tone quest stories!
Almost everyone who has ever played a note in their life on a guitar, bass, keyboard, or drums, or on any other instrument for that matter, has experienced one or all of these soul-wrenching emotional responses...
Hell, I clacked two sticks together once and was so amazed that it wasn't long before my parents were shouting, "SCOOOOTT! QUIT IT, OR ELSE!" Yeah, go ahead... try to deny it now!

My interest began the first time I played my grandmother's pump organ, I was about 5 or so... My real quest for the ultimate guitar tone began in 1970 when I was 13, in the small town of Lewiston, Idaho.
Your quest began the first time you played a note on anything... QUEST ON!
